I need to do better!

Day 8: I am grateful for having night classes. I woke up to people scraping their windows this morning cause yes, it has already snowed a buttload in idaho...and i was glad that i didnt have to set my alarm an extra half hour so i could make it to class in time :) Don't worry, i'll get my fix of that winter semester

Day 9: Yesterday i am grateful for snowplows. (are you catching a theme?) Driving in the snow freaks me out. like i have a legit anxiety attack everytime i get around other cars. I tell myself that it must not snow in Korea becasue that is the ONLY possible reason that my car spins out so easily, but today..the roads were plowed. and i made it to walmart and back without dying.

Day 10: Today i am grateful for other friends (and my sista) who are doing this with me. I have a friend who texts me asking me if im still doing this everyday and reminds me not to slack cause i'll start to forget! And im grateful that i log onto my sisters blog a creepy amount so that i can check to see if she is still doing it..and when i see that she's updated it reminds me that i need to also. So i do.

can you repeat that?

Yesterday, I was grateful for my car. I like my car…a lot. but if you’ve ever ridden in it in the past like..year you know that it is OUTRAGEOUSLY loud. Like if you want to carry on a conversation with the person in the passenger seat then you might as well wait until you are wherever you’re supposed to be cause theres no way they’ll be able to hear you over my tires. (it isn’t really my tires..its my wheel bearings..the things that spin your tires I guess?) Personally, I’ve gotten used to it..but then whenever I have new people in my car and I see them look around and grab the oh-crap handle like we’re about to take off into outerspace..i remember. Anyways, so I have always been grateful for it but it makes it a little bit hard to be as proud of it as I was when I first got it two years ago. Well yesterday I finally took it in to get it fixed cause it was starting to make a different noise that threw me off.
Yes, it was expensive, and yes it took them a day longer than they said it would BUT the fact is..its perfect again. I re-fell in love. I wasn’t expecting the silence when I pulled out of the mechanics but it was there and it was deafening..but the good kind of deafening! Plus, it made me grateful for my stereo..i had no clue it could be so loud :)
Today, I’m grateful for shoeboxes and baskets and bags and other things that make organizing so easy and enjoyable.

:)

Today i'm grateful for those times when youre by yourself and you witness something that genuinely makes you smile. Like a legit smile where you start feeling dorky.
When I was living in Ohio, there was a time that a main road was closed and i was so annoyed cause my GPS kept yelling at me to make turns that weren't possible and i was on my way to a movie that was about to start, but then i turned down this neighborhood and saw an older lady holding on to the back of a wobbly bike, and sitting on that bike was a little girl decked out in ever single piece of safety gear imaginable looking terrified...and a few feet away facing her was her dad and he was cheering her on and clapping while her grandma helped push her off so she could try and ride a bike without training wheels. I literally slowed down to see if she'd make it. And she did. but even before that i had that dorky smile.
Then today when i was driving through campus I saw two old people in their driveways that were across the street from eachother...one was a man, and one was a woman..because of the wind, both of their garbage cans had blown over and when the old man saw the old lady start to bend down to pick hers up he started waving his arms saying he'd get it for her. I'm pretty sure it took him longer to cross the street than it would have for her to just pick it up. But the point is, he did it for her and it made me smile.
I really hope i can do somehting for someone else that will make a stranger sitting in their car smile like those people did. :) It's the best feeling in the world..its a good reminder.. :)

Everybody Everywhere

today i am grateful for the weird moods i get in where i feel the need to scrub our entire apartment clean.
I had one of those this morning..so i did it, and i felt gross and grimey afterwards, i even rearanged my room and found new places for old things..but once i hopped out of the shower when i was finished, there was a note on our door saying we have clean checks tomorrow. done and done. :)
I think my roommates are thankful for it too!

Arbor Day! Trees are important too ya know

Today i'm grateful for holidays.

So basically i have these moments of panicking when i realize that i have to have a gift sent out to my sister in ohio in time for thanksgiving..and i haven't even picked one out yet. uhh no big deal, right? But then i have these other moments where i drown out the stress of holidays (which isn't always a great thing..cause i really need to get on that!) and just think of how excited i am for them to happen.

I'm grateful that a lot of my family is going to have christmas together for the first time in a while..and im grateful i'll get to see my fat yellow dog that i've been missing a ridiculous amount. (and my sisters and parents and grandparents)

I am grateful to have been raised in a home where holidays were the biggest thing since sliced bread. And i'm grateful that the love for every holiday stuck with me...so that i could stay up til 3am decorating my apartment for a halloween party and then wonder why i waited so long to do it :)

It's the little things :)

A lot of the things that im grateful for aren't monumental things. And i'm grateful for that in and of itself. (okay, is it just me or does that phrase look really weird typed out? usually i just say innaof-itself)

Anyway, If i'm early for class its not going to make or break my week..but its sure going to make it easier to find a seat...and i'm grateful for good seats.

If I remember to put my phone on silent before class, its not going to help me get an A. but its definitely going to save me the possible embarassment of my phone going off during the prayer and having all of my classmates turn to see who has the goofy built-in ringtone that sounds scary-close to Hannah Montana. Just sayin..i have nightmares about that happening. So i'm grateful for remembering.

Today, i'm especially grateful that BYU takes off their internet restrictions after 5. Don't Judge, cause i know that sounds weird.. but being able to get on Facebook and GoogleChat during a three hour long math class is definitely a blessing.

heres another picture. it makes sense because today was voting day and because i've seen like 28 christmas commercials today, so those two things together make this picture.

Because this will keep me sane..

Marcie suggested a gratitude journal. I don’t know exactly what that means, but im guessing I just say something im grateful for everyday. Like I said before, it will keep me sane.. I had a new years resolution where I would write down one thing that made me happy every single day..even if it was something goofy like a good parking spot at school (which is actually a really big deal) and it didn’t matter where I wrote it...even if it was in the margin of my homework or something. I did it until April and then all the sudden I didn’t one day…annnd that’s all it takes L But that’s okay! Cause this will be like a Part Two kind of thing!
So for today, I am grateful that it is November. I like new months and new beginnings. And im also grateful for when people force you to have fun. I think sometimes my roommates and I will plan something and then I start thinking about it too much and it feels like it will be less and less fun. That’s dumb. I think my favorite memories happened because someone suggested something random and spur of the moment, and I didn’t always want to go..but I went. And it rocked. For example, two weeks ago a couple people came over at like 11 and asked if I wanted to go golfing. It was freezing outside. I can’t golf. and I was being a bum so I said no.. .well then peer pressure happened and next thing I knew I was at a golf course breaking open glowsticks and pouring them on golfballs. It was one of my favorite nights of the semester, and im thankful for those breaks.“At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us. -Albert Schweitzer
oh ps here is halloween:
We went around scaring people one night
and these are our legit costumes..they doubled as a costume for an 80s party.. we started off as Punkers but then soon realized all the stuff we got was bright colors. i dont know. by the time ahlloween came around i didnt like them anymore but thats okay.
And here are fun things we do:
