apparently the cool thing to talk about is dreams.
mine is going to sound like im complaining but im really not, im just talking.
every single person who is reading this has said something about me going into behavioral sciences that came out sounding less than nice...obviously you guys aren't a bunch of haters and you didnt say those things knowing that they sounded the way they did..its sometimes funny to me because i know it looks weird.
during finals week i brought the idiots guide to quitting smoking to school to read after my tests. just like chelsee likes history and marcie likes writing i like learning about coping skills, and diary cards, and anxiety workbooks.
i know people say its fake and treehugger ish but i dont want to become a psychiatrist...i dont want to go to medicl school so i can give out pills and hope they work well together. i want to work in a hospital, be a group leader...change someones life. ya know?
so the details of my dreams change sort of often but thats the good thing about being in a profession like that..they train you in everything
ive wanted to open my own hospital for teenagers but then i heard of a place called the Center For The Intrepid and decided i could never compete with a name like that...even though thast for wounded soldiers..still.
ive wanted to work in an eating disorder clinic and even though thats what i consider to be the hardest i still do
ive wanted to work with alcoholics anonymous and alanon especially.
ive wanted to work at this place in utah thats mormon based and youre kid aren't allowed in unless the parents agree to do some kind of therapy with it.. i think thats rad.
yeah i know you get paid just as much as a highschool drop out and that people get bored after like 3 years...trust me i've heard! but i think as long as you dont narrow it down too much by saying something like you ONLY want to work with substance abuse then you can go a lot further.
so those are my dreams, along with that goes being on the tyra banks show, dancing with ellen degeneres, and meeting reese witherspoon. if youre gonna dream, might as well dream big right?

I don't think it sounds like you're complaining at all. In fact, I think I owe you an apology for thinking your dream is a ... uh ... different ; ) The truth is, there are a lot of kids out there who struggle with those scary issues, and SOMEONE has got to get through to them. SOMEONE has to teach them what it means to believe in yourself, love yourself and understand how the atonement works in their life. I think it's awesome that you want to make that type of difference in someones life. Sure, so what if you follow the stats and you get "burned out" after 5 years. Who cares. Think of how many lives you impacted in those 5 years. For me, the key would be working some place that teaches gospel values along side with therapy. Because really, that's what this life is all about and if you want to straighten out your life you've got to start with the truth.
amen yo.
